True indeed. Majority of us, Filipino Nurses, are tuned-in to the US Visa Bulletin like watching a prime time "teleserye". For years there had been no major movement nor any assurance...and it has been an exhausting experience waiting to be process.
Fellow nurses, there are other doors opened to us. One of which is like Middle East, Australia is open too.
The process to work in Australia is divided into to. First of which is obtaining an approval from Australian Board of Nursing. Second process IRON course (Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses). The said course is a twelve week theoretical and clinical practice that aims to equip us with better skills and knowledge in meeting the standard of Australia.
Good news is that one of the accredited institution that conduct the IRON course opened a satellite office here in Manila. ACFE (Australian Center for Further Education) made it easier for Filipino Nurses by providing a total package for the said course.
Furthermore, ACFE is giving partial scholarship (50% of the tuition) to Filipino Nurse who already received approval from Australian Board of Nursing and will be enrolling for their September Class.
This is an opportunity that we shouldn't miss.

well, all i can say is that this will play a big help for the declining quality of nursing education in the philippines. i am aware that nursing today loses its real essence. so why not try what could be the best for us. and isnt it sad to be tagged as one of the two countries which until now is having the old curriculum as partnered with Botswana. and i do believe that many of us took nursing aside from it is our a calling is that it is an opener to bigger opportunities not just here but also abroad, who havent thought of that? im sure majority of us wanted to work in greener pastures and for us to be able to work there is that we need to follow their standards. so i may say it is not just the quality education, well trained instructors, good training hospitals that matter but also the learning experiences within that length of time that each and everyone of us needed to be able to supplement what is lacking and of course it is also important to take this experiences with devotion because i believed success is not achieved in just a short time but with perseverance beyond that longetivity.

This article was 100% correct for the first group of graduating students, however since November 28, 20009, the Univeristy of Loyola Nursing school in Saipan must be approved by the Department of Homeland Security to accept U.S. student visas, and students will have to meet the stringent financial requirements of any U.S. based nursing school to be accepted.

With my earnest desire to establish a career in abroad, I am writing this letter to apply to any vacant nursing staff position that suits well with my qualifications.
I am Michelle C. Naca, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Liceo de Cagayan University, last October 2007. I took the Philippine Licensure Examination last December 2007 and fortunately passed the said examination.
As a registered nurse, I would like to enhance my skills and knowledge. I am of sound mind and of good moral character. I had already my three months training in Northern Mindanao Medical Center as a DR/NICU nurse last October 06, 2008-January 06, 2009 and have various hospital experiences during my internship as a student. I am equipped with knowledge and skills and can adjust and manage to any situational crisis. I am confident to be in this task with outmost efficiency and dedication.
